HAMER takes part in a joint project beetwen the Packaging Cluster and  the CataloniaBio & HealthTech sponsored by the Agència Catalana per a la competitivitat de l´empresa ACCIO.

As the Cluster Program Director, Joan Martí highlights:  “90% of the cluster in our Catalonia Cluster Program work together to find new business opportunities (…) the cross-cutting nature of our clusters enables multiple interactions and the Packaging and the HealthTech Clusters are good examples (…) But also of clusters generating disruptive innovations which occur when you cross similar but also different disciplines.”

HAMER joined one of the three chosen projects identified to receive assistance and follow-up by the ACCIO technicians together with the medical specialist companies AVINENT and TELSTAR.

The program had an open innovation approach. As highlighted by the member of the Packaging Cluster board Mrs Martina Font: “With open innovation, we can tap into the knowledge between companies to search for solutions beyond their boundaries (…) The HealthTech Cluster has found a packaging solution by crossing its value chain with the Packaging Cluster.”

And Mr.Albert Giralt, AVINENT  CEO added: “Packaging and medical solutions are increasingly linked over time due to regulations to ensuring medical device safety (…) The fact that the packaging industry can understand our needs first hand, is very important to generate innovation opportunities.”
